As political activities towards the forthcoming 2019 general elections gather momentum, Minority Leader and House of Representatives member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Delta state, Mr. Leo Ogor, Wednesday, inaugurated committees for his campaign organization with the state commissioner for housing, Mr. Joseph Ogeh, as chairman for Isoko North and member representing Isoko South constituency 2, in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Johnson Erijo as chairman for Isoko South.
The committees also has chairman, Isoko North local government council, Emmanuel Egbabor and the Special Assistant to the state governor on Media, Nelson Egware are to serve as secretary of the committee and director of media and publicity respectively for Isoko North while Mr. Godspower Obaro is to serve as the secretary of the committee for Isoko South with all house of Assembly aspirants under the platform of the party in the just concluded primary elections as members of the committees.
Performing the inauguration of the committees at the Ozoro country home of the house of Representatives member and minority leader, Mr. Leo Ogor, headquarters of Isoko North council area, chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Isoko North and Isoko South local government areas of the state, Mr. Godwin Ogorugba and Mr. Raphael Odorewu, reminded the committee’s members the need to work for victory of the party at the polls as the time to still be basking in the euphoria of the victories of the party’s primaries was over.
According to the Isoko North and Isoko South PDP, it was time to prepare for the main elections, even as they tasked members of the party to embark on a door to door campaign to sensitise the people on the need to vote comprehensively for the PDP candidates at the general elections.
The two party officials however noted that the inauguration ceremony would enable the committees start working to ensure victory for all PDP candidates at the polls and called for the support of all PDP faithful in the federal constituency.
In his remark, the minority leader and Isoko federal constituency house of Representatives member and PDP house of Representatives candidate in the 2019 general elections, Mr. Leo Ogor urged members of the campaign committees to take their assignment seriously and mobilise all Isoko people in the nook and crannies of the federal constituency to vote for the party, adding that “elections are close, we must campaign vigorously, we will have rallies to let our people know that we are on ground, door to door campaign is imperative so as to sensitise the electorate and bring out the votes.”, Ogor noted.
While harping on the need for all stakeholders of the PDP in the federal constituency to focus on the unity and peace in the constituency, Ogor urged the party faithful to embark on issue based campaign, and commended the SMART agenda of the governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration, saying that “Okowa’s achievements in Isoko nation will pave way for the victory of the party candidates” and called for cooperation of all to achieve this goal.
In their separate acceptance speeches, the committee chairmen, Mr. Ogeh and Mr. Erijo assured the party of the absolute commitments of the committees in mobilizing block votes for the party in all of its five elections starting from the presidential, governorship, senate, reps, and state assembly comes 2019.
The inauguration was attended by the majority leader, Delta state house of Assembly and the party’s Assembly candidate in the 2019 general elections as well as the party’s Assembly candidates for Isoko South constituency 1 and 2, Mr. Kenneth Ogba, and Mr. Ferguson Onwo.
