Ahead of the Saturday’s January, 6, 2018 local government election in Delta state, the Aniocha South chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), has raised an alarm accusing the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), of mass rigging as voting materials and ballot papers were already in the hands of the PDP and its candidates.

Addressing reporters at the Party Secretariat in Ogwashi Uku on Thursday, the Director of Media and Publicity for Bldr. Izu campaign Organisation BICO, Nnamdi Ofonye accused the ruling party of already being in possession of voting materials and ballot papers already thumb printed as at Wednesday night.

He further stated that the PDP had been boasting and threatening to unleash mayhem on the APC and its supporters on Saturday unless they have their way.

“They have recruited thugs from both within and outside the LGA and stockpiled arms which they will use on innocent voters having seen that the PDP is no longer an option for the people. We were also reliably informed that all the adhoc staff who are civil servants are under serious threats to return all PDP candidates or risk outright sack or demotion

The APC however charged its members to come out without fear and cast their votes stressing that the rebranded Nigerian Police force under the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led APC administration will not condone any form of unprofessionalism on the part of the security agencies hence the need for them to be ready to combat and deal with anybody or group that forments trouble on that day.

The party disclosed that its members have been also charged to resist all forms of harassment and also to wait and protect their votes until results are declared at the various polling units and collation centers.
