As the 2027 general elections gather momentum, chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, has called on the people of Isoko North to participate fully in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

Ogorugba gave the charge during the Isoko North Stakeholders/INEC sensitisation meeting held on Tuesday, at NULGE Hall, Isoko North Council Secretariat Ozoro as part of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The council boss emphasised that it is time for every true son and daughter of Isoko North to show their voter’s card, stressing that the voter’s card remains the most powerful tool for choosing leaders at all levels of government.
Ogorugba particularly encouraged young people who have just turned 18 and those who are yet to register to seize the opportunity to be party of the exercise.
“It is important that we prove our love for our dear local government at this time, especially for those who have just turned 18, those who are yet to register, and those who lost or damaged their cards. The exercise also provides an opportunity for those wishing to change their polling units within their wards.”
Reiterating the need for mass participation, Ogorugba urged all indigenes and residents of Isoko North, both at home and in the diaspora, to obtain their voter’s card even as he noted that INEC has improved its technology by using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), ensuring “one man, one vote.”
He also appealed to illustrious sons and daughters of Isoko North not to take the ongoing exercise for granted:
“It is your civic right to vote and be voted for. As proud sons and daughters of Isoko North, you must get your voter’s card to vote rightly in the forthcoming 2027 general election,” he charged.
In her remarks, the Isoko North Electoral Officer, Mrs. Oriavewo Margaret, commended Hon. Ogorugba and other stakeholders for their proactive efforts and synergy in ensuring a hitch-free registration exercise.
She disclosed that Isoko North is currently leading in the ongoing online voter registration across the 25 Local Government Areas in Delta State. She, however, appealed for continuous support to achieve maximum results by the end of the exercise.
