Ogorugba To Establish Modern Recreation Park, Youth Development Centre in Ozoro

The chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, Godwin Ogorugba, has announced plans for the establishment of a modern recreation park and a youth development centre in Ozoro, administrative headquarters of the xounxil.

The council chairman who made this known during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration held at the council secretariat in Ozoro and witnessed a large turnout of pupils and students from various primary and secondary schools across the council, emphasized that the developmental blueprint of Isoko North is firmly aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Ogorugba while highlighting the ongoing efforts to consolidate both national and state-driven visions within the local governance structure, stated that “It is with great joy and a heart full of gratitude that I stand before you today to celebrate a day that holds immense significance in our hearts, Children’s Day, May 27, 2025. I am proud to affirm that our local governance framework is rooted in the Renewed Hope and MORE Agendas of our President and Governor.”

The council chairman revealed that plans are already underway for the construction of the modern recreation park and youth development centre in Ozoro. Additionally, he announced the upcoming launch of the Isoko North Young Leaders Forum, aimed at mentoring promising children and teenagers to become civic-minded leaders of tomorrow.

Hon. Ogorugba also commended the efforts of the First Lady of Delta State, Dcns. Tobore Oborevwori, particularly her initiative on providing nutritious food supplements for children, a program being actively implemented in the local government by his wife, Dcns. Veronica Ogorugba.

He stressed that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration. In this regard, his government is working in close collaboration with traditional rulers, community vigilante groups, and the Nigeria Police to ensure that all communities remain safe and peaceful.

“Every child deserves to grow up free from abuse, trafficking, neglect, or exploitation,” Ogorugba stressed.

The event was well attended by notable dignitaries including the Vice Chairman of the Council, Evelyn Aluta; Leader of the Legislative Arm, Pascal Emelauha; Secretary to the Local Government, Vote Umukoro; councilors, Supervisors, Heads of Departments, security personnel, and others.
