Chairman of the Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri has called for synergy between the council and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to enhance the welfare of the local government area residents and the state at large.
Warri made the call while receiving the comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Delta State Command, Mrs. Victoria Uyoyou Agbi, on a courtesy and familiarization visit to his office in Oleh, administrative head of the council.
The council chairman, expressed appreciation to the Comptroller for the visit and assured her of his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the Nigeria Immigration Service to address insecurity within the council area.
The chairman also commended the approach of the NIS boss for reaching out to the government at the local level and assured the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), that his administration will ensure the immigration office in Isoko South, despite facing few challenges, will receive the necessary attention.
The State Comptroller, Mrs. Victoria Uyoyou Agbi, is the first indigenous and first female Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Delta State, from Irri community, Isoko South and married to an Oyede man.
Speaking earlier,the State Comptroller, expressed gratitude to the council boss for his time and commended his endeavors in promoting peace and order within the council area.
Mrs. Agbi however underscored the pivotal roles local authorities play in maintaining national security and reaffirmed the Nigeria Immigration Service’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at tackling illegal migration, human trafficking, and other immigration-related issues within the council area.
She drew the council chairman’s attention to the dilapidated immigration office in Isoko South council.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of compliments plaque to the council boss.
