The chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri has expressed gladness and commended students who participated inthe inaugural Sustainable Development Goal competition, organized by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State as part of their Community Development Service (CDS).

The program is in a collaboration with the office of the chairman of the Isoko South local government area and the Blessing Obomovo Foundation, had participants showcased an impressive display of knowledge, intellectual prowess, and critical thinking, with the council chairman applauding their performances.
The thrilling event, which featured students from several secondary schools across the Isoko South Local Government Area competing for academic excellence, awarded students with unique prizes for winners and participants.
The Isoko South Inter-School Debate and Quiz Competition, an initiative of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Isoko South, aimed to promote academic excellence and civic engagement among young minds.

The inaugural edition of the competition, held at the Otobo hall within the Isoko South Local Government Secretariat, featured 17 secondary schools competing in various subjects, ranging from general knowledge to mathematics, science, current affairs, and social studies.
Isoko South Local Government Council Chairman, Friday Ovoke Warri, in his remarks, expressed pride in the success of the inaugural quiz and debate competition, commending students for their enthusiasm and academic prowess, emphasizing that Delta State is presently in a new public school era under Governor Sheriff, marked by qualitative education and academic excellence.
Warri, who expressed confidence in the excellent performance of the students, stated that they should prepare for additional competitions in the upcoming year. He also revealed that the competition’s objective was to foster a culture of academic excellence while laying the groundwork for future leadership roles among young minds.
In the quiz competition, Otobosa Memorial School, Oleh, secured first position, while St. Michael College, Oleh, and Our Lady of Visitation Academy, Oleh, secured second and third place, respectively, following a tiebreaker.
Conclusively, in a demonstration of exceptional fortitude, Our Lady of Visitation Academy, Oleh, attained the top position in the debate, while Enhwe Comprehensive High School, Enhwe, and Divine Vision School, Ogbemudia-Oleh, secured the second and third positions, respectively.
