In its bid to return to the House of Representatives for the fifth times, come 2019, Minority Leader and member representing Isoko federal constituency, Leo Okuweh Ogor, has splashed N10 million on the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), stakeholders in his constituency, HardReporters reliably gathered.

The federal lawmaker who is said to be currently on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), watch list, splashed the N10 million largesse on the party leaders and other stakeholders Monday during an enlarged meeting of the party held at the Ozoro country home of Ogor, headquarters of Isoko North local government area of the state.

Speaking at the meeting which was attended by elected and political office holders from the area, Mr. Ogor, who thanked his party leaders, elders and members for the unflinching support given him while away on a medical vacation, sang praises and thanked God for surviving a partial paralysis, popularly called stroke.

The embattled lawmaker however used the opportunity to preach peace, unity and love among the PDP family.

In a telephone conversation with HardReporters political editor, an elder and one of the founding fathers of the party in Isoko South confirmed in confidence that the N10 million largesse splashed on the stakeholders of the party by the lawmaker was for “kola-nut” and does not have anything to do with bribe.

“Though, as an old time politician, I understand that the gift was nothing but a “Greek Gift” which is meant to speak for him in the forthcoming 2019 general elections. His body language alone has said it all. But the truth be told, Hon. Leo Ogor is a fire brand legislator that God has used to blessed Isoko nation.

“Hon. Leo Ogor, is the only vibrant voice representing Isoko nation and our party at the forefront of our national politics. We don’t mind if he chooses to return to the national Assembly even for the tenth times. For me the only issue some of us party leaders and elders have with him is the area of hijacking of contracts to himself and family members.” the elder said.

It was reliably gathered that one of the aims the meeting set to achieve was the return of the lawmaker to the green chamber for a fifth term.

It was gathered that Delta State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Mr. Tim Owhefere, Delta state chairman, Association of Local Government Of Nigeria, (ALGON) and chairman, Isoko South council, Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo, chairman, Isoko North local government council, Mr. Emmanuel Egbabor, were among other leaders of the party that addressed the stakeholders meeting.
