The yet to be abated political crisis rocking the Aniocha North local government area of Delta state has taken a new dimension as the leader of the legislative Arm Ekene Nwaonye allegedly thrown dignity to the wind and beat up the Clark of the House, Mrs. Ifeoma Igbordo.
Our correspondent reliably gathered that trouble started Thursday after the House concluded its sitting when Mr. Nwaonye requested that the Clark handover the mace, the symbol of authority to him but Mrs. Igbordo refused, leading to her being allegedly beaten up by the angry leader.
“When the Clark refused to handover the Maize to him, he decided to forcefully take the mace from her but the Clark refused which resulted into argument. The leader then bounced on the Clark and torn her clothes in a bid to get possession of the mace and he forcefully took the mace from her and entered into his car and zoomed off”. our source said.

It was gathered that the clark then reported to her husband who formally launched the complaint at the Issele-Uku Divisional Police Station and the office of the Department of Security Service (DSS), who stormed the council in a bid to apprehend the fleeing lawmaker.
As at the time of filing in this report, news of his arrest is still sketchy; however our source said the leadership of the council was on top of the matter.
Confirming the incident, the media assistant to the council chairman, Mr. Matthew Nwanaza, told our correspondent that the chairman, Mr. Chuks Oseme, was unhappy over the development.
It would be recall that political crisis brewed in the Council following alleged fight between the council chairman, Oseme, the member representing Aniocha North constituency in the state Assembly, Emeka Nwobi and the sacked commissioner for culture and tourism, Dan Okenyi, following power tussle of who controls the council.
A faction of the councilors were inaugurated Monday 15th January 2018, by Mr. Nwobi and Mr. Okenyi at the council secretariat, Issele-Uku with Nwobi’s loyalist, Ekene Nwaonye of ward 8, installed as the leader of the legislative arm without the consent of the council boss, Mr. Oseme.
