Delta state Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR) has warned its Delta Central Coordinator of CDHR, Mr. Kelly Umukoro (aka) Akima Onos, to henceforth desist from issuing statements on behalf of the organization.
CDHR, while frowning at Umukoro’s indiscriminate and disrespectful way and manner of issuing statements on behalf of the group without permission, said that such actions are not in concurrence with aims and objectives of the organisation which has not only diminished but has brought disrepute to the group.
According to a statement signed by the state Assistant Secretary of CDHR, Mr. Israel Joe and made available to HardReporters correspondent, Umukoro, posted to a lot of facebook groups beating the drum of war should there be any attack on any son or daughter of Urhobo nation.
“Comrade Umukoro Kelly (aka) Akima Onos always makes posts and claims as the Delta Central Coordinator of CDHR. He has again posted to a lot of Facebook groups beating the drum of war should there be any attack on any son or daughter of Urhobo nation due to the acclaimed attack on Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, representing Delta central in the senate.
“We wish to make our position known that while we frown at any attack on any Nigerian, only the chairman or any designated executive member of the organization can speak on behalf of the organization after verifying our facts.
“Akima Onos acknowledged as being our member has no right to speak on behalf of the organization as the title Delta Central Coordinator only empowers him to push for members into the organizations and never to address the Press in any stead in CDHR capacity. After our findings, CDHR Delta branch will officially issue a press statement to the effect of the alleged attack on a Nigerian Senator in Effurun, Delta state.” the statement adds.
