.…Commissioner Embezzles N1 Million Gift To Physically Challenged For Christmas

An irate aide to the commissioner representing Isoko ethnic nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Oviemuno Oghoore, on Monday attacked the Delta state correspondent of the National Reformer Newspapers, Mr. Jerry Hezekiah, boasting to kill the Journalist.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that the irate aide whose name was given as Adaighofua Irikefe, attacked the Journalist and destroyed his working gadgets for daring to cover a protest by the physically challenged under the umbrella of the Isoko South and North chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, (JONPWD), against the DESOPADEC Commissioner over the release of N1 million by the commission to JONAPWD which the commissioner allegedly embezzled.

Mr. Hezekiah told our correspondent that Mr. Irikefe boasted killing him for daring to cover the protest against his boss even as the aide destroyed his phones and seized other of his valuables.

When calls were put to the commissioner, he did not respond as at press time.

Meanwhile HardReporters also gathered that two Journalists Mr. Matthew Omonigho, of the DAILY POST and Mr. Onyekachukwu Meleuwa, of the Authentic News Daily were said to have escaped untimely death during the last weekend Delta state local government election when armed youths working under the instructions of Hilary Ibegbulem, the principal secretary to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, attacked them.

The two Journalists who were on their lawful duties were attacked at Ekpo and Awulor Primary Schools at Ute-Okpu community, Ika North East local government area.
