There was pandemonium at Olieogo, Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State following the kidnap of a four years old little Sunday Onwusa, a middle aged woman said to be currently on the run.
It was gathered that, suspected kidnapper who hailed from Obi-Obeti, a neighboring town in in Ukwuani local government area of the state came to Olieogo, to visit his boyfriend who was said to have travelled out of town and slept at the residence of the elder brother of her boyfriend at Olieogo community where she kidnapped little Onwusa.
‘The suspected female kidnapper visited a family of four, residing at Ogbe Etu quarters, Olieogo whose parents were not at home and sent the eldest child of the family called Blessing to buy a loaf of bread for her and on Blessing’s return she could neither find her younger brother nor the suspected kidnapper.
“At this junction, Blessing who is only 12 years old raised an alarm which attracted neighbors and a search party constituted to search for both the missing child and the suspected female kidnapper in all nooks and cranny of the town but could not trace any sign of their presence in any part of the town.
“The matter was reported to the vigilante group who during their course of investigation traced the “Okada rider” who conveyed the suspect to her home town, Obi-Obeti and arrested the woman whom the alleged female kidnapper visited before she travelled out of the state. The matter has been reported to the Police station at Kwale.” our source said.
A senior police officer at Kwale who preferred anonymity said the matter has been transferred to the state police headquarters, Asaba for further investigation.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, confirmed the case adding that it has been transferred to the Human Rights Department of the state police command.
Aniamaka said that the Police was carrying out further investigation on the matter, saying that the police have spread out its dragnet with the aim of apprehending the fleeing suspected female kidnapper.
