Impeccable information before HardReporters shows that Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa is currently in a precarious condition as his fate is said to be hanging in the balance following pressure said to be mounting on former ex-convict governor James Ibori by the All Progressives Congress, (APC), led government of President Muhammadu Buhari to accept the state pardon put forward before him.

Credible sources who confided in HardReporters revealed that, Mr. Okowa is having sleepless nights coupled with the fact that once the state pardon is accepted by Mr. Ibori, automatically, he (Okowa), has been dumped and his hope for a second tenure may have been dashed.

“Its no big deal, remember that former President Goodluck Jonathan did it for his former boss, he granted presidential pardon to late former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, and others despite reports that the late Alamieyeseigha looted the state treasury to a stand still as governor. Even with some many controversy that followed Jonathan’s action, he was not bothered and everything went fine.” an impeccable source revealed.

The source hinted that, some identified PDP and APC political bigwigs within and outside the state who have one score or the other to settle with Governor Okowa are among those behind the proposed state pardon for Mr. Ibori to capture Delta State for APC come 2019, adding that discussion has reached an advanced stage.

“I can tell you that top politicians from the PDP and APC are handling the matter and once a compromise is reached, former governor Ibori will be granted a Presidential amnesty before 2019 and Delta state will say bye bye to PDP. Though, Ibori is still very unwilling but I can tell you that talk is seriously on and been kept as a top security though. Lets keep our fingers crossed, and see how the pendulum swings.

“Incumbent governor Okowa is already having serious sleepless nights over possible dump by Ibori. You know its no longer a secret that Governor Okowa has been building his own political structure, and weakening the Ibori and Uduaghan structures in the state. If things work out as been planned you will see Governor Okowa losing hundreds of supporters to the APC and know what that means. Don’t forget, if not some advise Ibori would have joined the APC.

“When he first returned to Nigeria, that was when he would have joined the APC but cautioned to watch keenly to understand the Buhari led administration first. I can tell you boldly that Okowa is very restless. That is while you see him trying to play the good boy every time before President Buhari and want to noticed. He hardly castigate Buhari like some other governors rather he always call for prayers for the President.” our dependable source revealed.

According to another source, “Ibori is still very vulnerable, he is not sure of what the federal government would do next about his case, that’s why he can’t fight anyone now. For Ibori alone, he will not dump Okowa because they are of same feathers but leaving him and PDP and delivering Delta State to APC is a condition Ibori has been given and Okowa knows that when the chips are down, Ibori would surely dump him and follow another profitable routs, that’s why Okowa has been trying to build his own political structure in case the eventuality happens.”

It was learnt that of recent, Mr. Ibori have been developing some cold feet towards the way and manner, governor Okowa has been running the affairs of the state, especially the DESOPADEC, and recent been his battle line drawn with Okowa over last Thursday’s dissolution of Moses Ogbe’s led Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) without consulting him before sacking Mr. Ogbe, his nominee.
