It was a black Sunday for two members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and four others, including the driver of a Jetta car who lost their lives Sunday in a ghastly motor accident that occurred around 11:00 am by Mountain of Fire Church, Okwejeba Junction by Warri-Sapele Road, of Delta state.
According to eyes witness accounts, an SUV travelling from Benin city to Warri lost control of his steering and had a fatal head on collision with a Jetta car with registration number GWK 963 said to be heading from Warri to Sapele when the accident occurred.
“I was at the scene of the said accident that claimed the lives of the two members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), four persons and the Jetta car driver. What happened was that an SUV was coming from Benin on his own lane, suddenly the SUV veered off his lane to the other lane which led to the head on collision with a Jetta car carrying passengers from Warri to sapele.
“The said Jetta car was carrying two members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC who came for a church service at Oleh, headquarters of Isoko south local government area of Delta state and were returning to Sapele with four other occupants and the Jetta car driver when the ghastly accident happened.” eye witness told HardReporers.
It was gathered that policemen who arrived the scene of the incident prevented people from taking photographs of the lifeless bodies of the accident victims at the scene. As at the time of the report, details of the accident were still sketchy.
