As Deltans go to the poll today to elect their council chairmen and councillors across the 25 local government areas in the state, facts have emerged that Ad-hoc staff recruited for the election by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, (DSIEC), were card carry members of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Our team of correspondents reliably gathered that in several local government areas list of ad-hoc staff have been compromised, at the Onicha-Olona ward 5 list of presiding officers comprised PDP members while in the ward of the former house of representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, the list of Ad-hoc staff recruited by DSIEC are nowhere to be found.
“Chidi Nwoko contested the PDP councillorship primaries alongside the present candidate of the PDP, Ozor Gwadia is Umuolo chapter woman leader of the PDP. Thomas Okonne, Agba Chapter chairman of the PDP. Augustine Jiwaha is Umuolo chapter chairman of PDP. Zico Enyi,another ward exco of the PDP.” an electorate in the area disclosed.
It was learnt that the commission mistakenly released a list containing the PDP members, and on discovering their error, the list was removed and replaced with another.

An impeccable staff of DSIEC who confided in this medium said governor Ifeanyi Okowa had issued an order to the commission’s chairman, Mike Ogbodu to deliver all PDP candidates in today’s election and failure to adhere shall cost him his job, “And that is exactly what the commission is doing. No doubt the commission is biased and can no longer be seen as an electoral umpire.” the staff said.
