The City Boys Movement, Isoko North Chapter, led by its Director, Efenudu Orevaoghene, on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba.

During the visit, the group declared its support for the re-election of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group also honoured the Chairman Ogorugba by appointing him as a Patron of the City Boys Movement, Isoko North Chapter.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the City Boys Movement for finding him worthy of the honour and for recognising him as a Patron of the movement.

Ogorugba described the appointment as a demonstration of the confidence the group has in his leadership, assuring them that he would continue to encourage initiatives that promote unity, peaceful political participation and meaningful grassroots mobilisation.

He said: “I sincerely appreciate the leadership and entire membership of the City Boys Movement, Isoko North Chapter, for this honour and for finding me worthy to serve as a Patron of this great movement. I am deeply grateful for your visit and for the confidence you have demonstrated in my leadership. This appointment is not only an honour; it is also a responsibility, and I accept it with humility and a strong commitment to supporting the ideals of unity, peace, development and responsible political participation.

“As we gradually approach the 2027 general elections, there is a lot of work to be done. Political victory does not come by merely making declarations or attending meetings. It requires serious mobilisation, effective communication, unity of purpose and sustained engagement with our people at the grassroots. I therefore want to encourage every member of the City Boys Movement to remain committed and focused. Take your mobilisation to the wards, units, communities and streets. Speak with our people. Listen to their concerns and explain to them the importance of participating actively in the democratic process.

“We must ensure that our mobilisation is broad-based and inclusive. Every young person, every community leader, every woman and every stakeholder has a role to play. We must work together respectfully and peacefully, because politics should be about service, development and the collective interest of our people. I want to particularly urge you not to relent in your efforts towards achieving victory and delivering the desired result in Isoko North. The 6/6 objective must not merely remain a slogan; it should be supported by genuine grassroots mobilisation, organisation and commitment.

“However, while pursuing our political objectives, I want you to remain peaceful. Do not allow political differences to divide us as brothers and sisters. We may have different opinions and preferences, but our common interest as a people must always remain paramount. As the political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gather momentum, I expect the City Boys Movement to distinguish itself through discipline, unity, peaceful mobilisation and respect for all stakeholders. Let us take the message to the people and encourage them to make informed decisions when the time comes.

“I assure you that as your Patron, I will continue to encourage and support you within the limits of my responsibilities. I commend your courage, your commitment and your determination, and I urge you to sustain the momentum. Let us remain united, organised and peaceful. Let us continue to engage our people at the grassroots, and let us work collectively towards achieving a laudable result for our party and candidates in the 2027 general elections.”

Ogorugba further urged members of the movement to maintain unity and discipline, stressing that effective grassroots engagement would be critical to achieving a strong electoral outcome in 2027.

The council chairman also called on them to conduct their mobilisation activities peacefully and responsibly, particularly as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the elections.
