Delta Council Boss, Ogorugba Bags Royal Lions Club Award, Lifts Ban On Revenue Collections

In recognition of his contributions to community development and service to humanity, chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has bagged the Isoko Royal Lions Club excellence award.

The event, held Saturday at the Isoko Development Union (IDU) Secretariat in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, also marked the installation of Lion Princess Oghale Oweh as the Chartered President of the Isoko Royal Club of Lions International, Region 9.

Receiving the prestigious award, Elder Ogorugba expressed his gratitude to the Isoko Royal Lions Club for the recognition and pledged to continue to double his dedication to making the society a better day.

“I will continue to give my best in serving humanity and enhancing community development. As a government in Isoko North Local Government, our initiatives are community-based programs aimed at growth and sustainability.

“Reflecting the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for Deltans, we will continue to strive for the best at the grassroots level.”, Ogorugba stated.

The event was chaired by the Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojame, and attended by dignitaries including, Jonathan Ukodhiko, member representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives; Emmanuel Okoro, pioneer speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly; Eta Enahoro;  Paul Oweh, Chairman of the Delta State Hospital Management, Minnie Igbrude and other notable dignitaries.

Meanwhile, the Isoko North council chairman, Godwin Ogorugba has announced the immediate lifting of the ban on revenue collection in the council.

In a letter signed by the Secretary to Isoko North Council, Vote Umukoro, revealed that the executive chairman, Ogorugba, issued the directive during the monthly Executive Council meeting held at the EXCO chamber in Ozoro, headquarters of the council on 30th October, 2024.

The council boss however urged all business owners and residents to cooperate with the revenue collection units to enhance the council’s infrastructure and basic amenities.

“By working together, the council aims to maximize revenue collection, which is crucial for sustaining its operations and improving public services. Let’s support the council’s efforts to improve our community. Stay informed and let’s work together for betterment of Isoko North LGA, Delta State.”, Ogorugba added.
