Like the former chairman of the Delta state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Nwoaboshi, the incumbent chairman, Kingsley Esiso, has commenced the milking of aspirants vying for chairmanship and councillorship positions in the January, 6, 2018 local government elections with a prize tag of N1 million and N.2 million for chairmanship and councillorship forms respectively.
It would be recalled that during his tenure as the PDP state chairman, Mr. Nwaoboshi milked aspirants to death by collecting N1.5 million and N.3 million for chairmanship and councillorship forms; plus N.3 million and N.2 million respectively as a “kola-nut,” if an aspirant’s form is to get his attention.
Addressing a press conference Friday at the PDP state secretariat in Asaba, the party chairman, Mr. Esiso announced that the party in the state has fixed nomination forms for chairmanship and councillorship aspirants at N1 million and N.2 million respectively but swiftly disclosed that however, the forms shall be made free of charge to all female aspirants of the party at all levels in the forthcoming council polls.
HardReporters correspondent reports that Esiso, who was flanked by other executive members of his exco said that the doors shall be officially opened between the 10th and 20th of October 2017 for aspirants who are desirous of contesting the polls to come forward to purchase their nomination forms.

According to Esiso, “Wednesday 18 and Saturday 21, this month, the party shall conduct screening exercise for all aspirants who have duly collected forms from us. Councillorship aspirants will be screened at the party offices at the senatorial level while chairmanship will be screened at the state secretariat of the party.
“Primaries for chairmanship aspirants will be conducted at the various local government headquarters on 26 while councilors will take their turn on 25 October 2017”, adding that petitions would be treated on 28 of same month if there was any. “The party would deal with any issue arising and the party will not tolerate any form of imposition”, he assured aspirants.
The newly inaugurated Delta Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, (DSIEC), had released its local government elections time table with January 6, 2018 as the fixed day for election across the state.
