DELTA LG POLLS: Isoko North PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Ogorugba, Promises More Dividends Of Democracy, Gets More Endorsements

As the Delta state local government councils elections draw near, the Isoko North Local Government Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), chairmanship candidate for the July, 13, 2024 council elections, Godwin Ogorugba, has promised to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people when elected as chairman.

The well accepted PDP chairmanship candidate and immediate past Isoko North PDP chairman, made the promise on Wednesday during the party’s campaign flag off at Ekwerigbe primary school play ground, Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North council.

Receiving the party’s flag from the state PDP chairman, Kingsley Esiso at the event, Ogorugba, thanked the state governor Sheriff Oborevwori, leaders and stakeholders of the party for his choice as the party’s candidate for the July 13, 2024 elections and assured that if elected he would through his “GOD WINS” agenda in line with governor Oborevwori ‘s “MORE” agenda make sure ever nook and cranny in the local government receives the impacts of his administration.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the campaign flag off, the state PDP chairman, Kingsley Esiso, while welcoming decampees from other opposition political parties stated that “Prince Ogorugba has the capacity, ability and the needed experience to deliver on the dividends of democracy as council chairman in Isoko North.” and charged party leaders and party faithful and all the decampees to consolidate on the victory of the party at the local government area come July, 13.

On his part, the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the House of Representativess, Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko,  expressed optimism that PDP will win the local government elections with wide margins adding that “PDP is Isoko and Isoko is PDP, the people are eager to do what they know how best to do by delivering the chairmanship candidate and every other candidates of the party at the election. PDP has not lost any election in Isoko North local government area and the party will continue its wining streak come July 13.” 

In his remarks,  the Director-General of the Ogorugba Campaign Council and former chairman of the council, Emmanuel Egbabor assured that PDP was ready to win the local government election come July 13, 2024.

Egbabor, who is an Executive Assistant to the governor, said the PDP chairmanship candidate, Ogorugba will not disappoint the people if elected as chairman and charged the electorates to come out en-mass on July, 13 and cast their votes for Ogorugba.

Speaking at different times during the event, chairman of the Campaign Council and chairman Delta State Hospitals Management Board, (HMB), Paul Oweh, member representing Isoko North constituency at the state house of Assembly,  Bernard Odior, Executive Director, Finance and administration, DESOPADEC, Kome Okpobor corroborated the earlier speech of the DG of the Ogorugba Campaign Council and assured that Isoko North will replicate the victory they recorded in the 2023 general elections come July 13.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Secretary of the party in Isoko North, Thomas Akpoedafe, while welcoming the State PDP chairman and leaders of the party to the rally, stated that the mammoth crowd at the rally was an indication that the party will again win the local government convincingly at the polls. 

HARDREPORTERS reported that the high points of the event were the presentation of the party’s flag to the party’s chairmanship candidate, Ogorugba by the state PDP chairman, Kingsley Esiso and a former House of Assembly candidate for the Isoko North Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Oghenerioja Usie leading thousands of his supporters of the Labour Party to join the PDP ahead of the council elections coming up July 13.
