Absence of the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, to begin first hearing in a suit case No. FHC/ASB/C8/56/2017 at the the Federal High Court I, Asaba, against the Speaker of he Delta state house of Assembly, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori and two others over the illegal appointment of Aghoghovia Otto as the Deputy Clerk of the Delta state House of Assembly in violation of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission Law of 2013, has been stalled.
The first hearing of the Case Against Speaker and Others (full story), slated for Wednesday was stalled following the absence of the judge who was said to have gone for a conference in Abuja.
Speaker of Delta state House of Assembly, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori, the house and the deputy clerk, Mr. Aghoghophia Otto were dragged to the Federal High Court, Asaba by Simon Ngbakor Esq., on behalf some concerned Deltans over the illegal appointment of Mr. Otto as Deputy Clerk in violation of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Law of 2013.
The appointment of Mr. Otto as deputy clerk was carried out by the impeached former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Monday Igbuya after deliberately arm twisted the leadership of the legislature to undermine laid down laws to foist his crony and tribesman on the House, even when Mr. Otto did not meet the requirements.
