…..To Be Dragged Before EFCC, ICPC

Deputy speaker of the Delta state house of Assembly, Mr. Friday Ossai Osanebi is presently in a financial scam running into N779 million which he allegedly swindled oil bearing communities of Ndokwa East local government area of the state.

Bloody crisis, HardReporters reliably gathered is currently brewing in the area following alleged fraudulent and criminal activities of the state house of Assembly deputy speaker.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the crew of HardReporters, on behalf of the communities, the chairman, Ndokwa East Cluster Communities (OB 3 Project), Chief Josiah Agbanachi, accused the Delta State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Mr. Friday Osanebi of defrauding the people of N779 million and plugged the Ndokwa East into impoverishment.

According to Chief Agbanachi, who also doubles as the chairman, LandLords of the Right-Of-Way Communities to the OB3 pipelines, the deputy speaker has for the past years denied the people their rights and benefits.

“In 2014, NESTOIL Limited was given a job by NNPC to construct a pipeline from Obligom in Rivers State through Delta to Obem in Edo state. The thing transverse through my land, eight communities were affected in Ndokwa East. We as landlords are supposed to get the contracts, the local content jobs but, Friday Osanebi, who is not even a landlord in the right-of-way because he is from Beneku and the pipeline did not passed through his community, he collected all the jobs to the exclusion of all the landlords and that has been a problem because we are not happy.

Agbanachi disclosed that the first deal the deputy speaker did was the clearing which he does not mobilise anybody to do. ” Once he signs the contract, NESTOIL Limited does the work and gives him the sum of N15 million after signing of the contract and that money is supposed to be for the communities but will collect and pocket it. So far so good, I can authoritatively tell you that till date, the deputy speaker, Friday Ossai Osanebi, using his company, Augoe and Sons, in connivance with one Engr. Noel Ejidike of NESTOIL Limited on the OB3 pipeline project in Ndokwa East local government area of Delta state has defrauded us of huge sum of money estimated to the tune of N779 million.”

Agbanachi, however vowed that failure to hands off all the contracts and refund to them their N779 million, they shall have no other option than to drag the deputy speaker before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and ICPC.

Calls put to the deputy speaker, Friday Ossai Osanebi were rebuffed as at the time of filing in this report.

HardReporters recalled that sometime in 2015, thousands of Ndokwa youths from the Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State staged a protest in Warri, the economic hub of the State, accusing the State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Mr. Friday Osanebi and his “political godfather”, Mr. Godswill Obielum, of defrauding the youths of N1.4 billion.

The Ndokwa youth leaders claimed that Mr. Osanebi and Mr. Obielum pilfered the sum of N1.4 billion from a fund originally set aside for the empowerment and training of youths in the State.

They noted that the funds were provided by the  Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), government agencies, and multinational oil companies.

The full details of the exclusive interview with the chairman, Ndokwa East Cluster Communities (OB3 Project), Chief Josiah Agbanachi, will be brought to you on Wednesday.
