.…..As Okowa Vows To Keep Cabinet Over Ibori’s Demand For 50% Slot, Juicy Ministries
HardReporters can authoritatively report that those expecting Delta state governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa to dissolve his current cabinet now will have to wait a little longer as a result of fear that has gripped the governor following demands by former Delta ex-convicted governor, Mr. James Ibori to produce 50 percent of commissioners that will make the new cabinet.
An impeccable high ranking government official in the Okowa led administration who pleaded for anonymity confided in HardReporters Senior Political Editor on the telephone that, “Governor Okowa is not willing to dissolve his cabinet now or in the future. Unless there is a change of heart but for now, he has decided to continue with the cabinet till 2019.”
Giving reasons for Okowa’s decision, our reliable source disclosed that “Governor Okowa is afraid and the same time not happy following demands by former governor James Ibori to have 50 percent of the commissioners that will make the new cabinet. The worst part of the demand that really get Okowa mad and forced him to insist on carrying on with his cabinet till 2019 was that, Ibori will not only have the 50 percent but will also want to choose ministries of his choice.”
According to the source, an ally of governor Okowa, “You see Okowa is not comfortable with such demands. Okowa actually want to curtain Ibori excesses and this attitude of “godfatherism” of his which are becoming over bearing for Okowa. The truth is that Governor Okowa is not happy with the return of the former governor to the county.
“Okowa want to put up a different political empire loyal to him and dismantle the Ibori dynasty completely is Ibori has known this already and not happy with him. Recently, Ibori told him to his face in Abuja that he is not doing well and the people are complaining bitterly. But Okowa responded that its all lies that he (Ibori) was been fed with lies.” our source disclosed.
Our source however challenged governor Okowa to dispute the story and prove him wrong with the total dissolution of his cabinet in three months time.
