The immediate past Secretary to the Delta State Government, SSG, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Macaulay, has donated 50 units of computer system to the Mass Communication department of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu.
Comrade Macaulay, made the donation at the maiden Home Coming and 32nd Anniversary of the institution’s Alumni Association, Faculty of Management Science, Thursday at the De Dome Event Centre, Enugu, Enugu State, shortly after he was honored with an Excellent Award for his contribution to the growth and development of the department of mass communication.
While expressing gratitude to the Alumni Association for the award, Comrade Macaulay, said “I’m really grateful and delighted for this recognition given me, I never knew my little contributions were being taken into cognisance and this award today will empower me to do more and I’m very grateful”.

Macaulay, who thanked God almighty for the award, also expressed his gratitude to the management and staff of the faculty, the executives of the alumni association for finding him worthy of the honour.
Earlier, chairman of the organizing committee, Prof. Ike Ndolo, gave reasons why the Delta state former SSG, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Macaulay, and other awardees were being honored adding that, “Comrade Macaulay, is here with his very distinguished entourage from Delta State. Macaulay, single handedly ensured that The Mass Communication department of ESUT secured full five years National University Commission, NUC, accreditation in 2011 and many other areas he intervened in the department”.
Presenting the former Delta SSG for the award, Prof. Ike Ndolo, has this to say “We present to you a man of great vision, a great philanthropist, a man of exceptional humility and Okiroro of Isoko, as conferred on him by Isoko traditional rulers, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Macaulay, a great Alumnus of the Faculty of Management Science Enugu State University of Science and Technology”, describing him as a man that has caring heart for the less privileged and those around him.
In his opening remark, chairman of the occasion and the President General Ohaneze Ndigbo, Worldwide, Nnia Nwodo, who averred that Industry, agro and Information Communication Technology, ICT, are drivers of today’s economy which formed the decision of Comrade Macaulay to contribute his quota to the growth of the institution inline with the jet age and donated 50 units of computer set.
Other awardees includes, Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ogwuanyi, MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank PLC, Tony Ojobor, National Communication Commission, NCC, Prof FC Eze, former ESUT Registrar, Engr Mike Uzoigwe, Mr Emeka MBA , former DG of NBC, Chijioke Agbo, the MD of Farm Fresh, Chidume Oranu, a business mogul and industrialist among others, who also played their role in the faculty of management science.
The former Delta SSG was accompanied by HRM Anthony Ogbogbo, Ovie of Ozoro Kingdom, HRM. SD Luke-Kalan Nama (JP), Pere of Akugbene kingdom, Prof. Samuel Aghalino, Chairman, Governing Council, College of Education, Warri, Sir. Anthony Chuks Obuh, former Delta State PDP Governorship aspirant, Sir. Okeh Ofili, former Head of Service, Delta State, Sir. Patrick Ferife, former commissioner for special infrastructure, Dr. Mrs. Evelyn Aluta, former chairman, Post Primary Education Board, Asaba, Engr. Dr. A E. Anazia, MD/CEO A & A Consultants amongst others.
