….Accuses NDDC Of Distorting Rivers Master Plan

Governor Nyesom Wike, of Rivers State has vowed not to work with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff, should he be affirmed by the Supreme Court as the chairman of the party.

Governor Wike made this disclosure Friday during an interview by the crew of Sun Rise Daily on Channels Television, in commemoration of Rivers state at 50 anniversary, monitored by our political editor in Abuja.

According to the Governor working under Sheriff’s leadership “I can’t work with Sheriff if the supreme court decides in his favour. Have you see the characters around Sheriff.? I can’t work with Sheriff its against my belief and tradition. Why we are following up this issue is for the stance of the law on certain things to be stated properly.

“It is very, very unlikely for me to be under Sheriff if the supreme court rules he is the party chairman. I can’t say if I will leave but of course I have my choice. There are things you can’t go on with, they’re certainly wrong. Do the party have any clear roadmap with such person? And then you want me to go and work under such person? It is against my belief. It is even against the tradition, no I can’t do that.” Wike stated.

However, Governor Wike also threatened to dump the party should the apex court ruling favour the Sheriff’s faction.

Meanwhile, governor Wike during the live interview session aired in Port Harcourt, capital city of Rivers state, accused the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) of distorting Rivers state master plan.

“The commission does not consult me before embarking on any project in the state. From nowhere you see bulldozers in our streets with police everywhere. At least as a commission you approach the state government whatever you want to do not just jumping from nowhere with bulldozers in our streets thereby distorting our master plan. Its unacceptable to us. You see abandoned projects everywhere and rather than attending to them, they go into new projects. Is that how things are done.?” Wike said.
