The youth wing of the Ndokwa East chapter of Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, (HOSTCOM), has passed a vote of no confidence on the senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the National Assembly, and the chairman Senate committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC), Peter Nwaoboshi, over what they described as corruption and non performance.
In a statement entitled “No Confidence Vote On Senator Representing Delta North And The Chairman Senate Committed On NDDC, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi”, signed by the President of HOSTCOM, Ndokwa East, Chibeze Osakuni, and made available to HardReporters correspondent, expressed extreme dissatisfaction, disappointment and anger over the marginalization and neglected by the senator.
“Firstly, I want to bring to notice of all that Ndokwa East is the first and highest producer of oil and gas in delta north till date and yet no single NDDC project is found sited in the oil rich region of the senatorial district where we have Multinationals like NAOC, NIETCO DIESMAN (IPP), KORUS oil Afor and etc.
“Secondly we should be aware that in hierarchy of oil quantum, Ndokwa East should be first to be considered in area of projects development and other benefits from NDDC as the number one oil production local government area. More so Ndokwa East should produce the chairman board of NDDC and not to be given to other tribes. Enough is enough!
“We’re stating clearly that Senator Nwaoboshi is not good for the people of Ndokwa East and should not be given a second chance, the difference is clear, during the era of Prof. Eric Opia, a great son of Ndokwa as chairman of then Oil mineral producing commission OMPADEC now NDDC, he used his total mind to serve and was never looked down on our Ndokwa East people, he toured virtually all the oil bearing /production communities like Okpai, Beneku and Aboh and many others even when production were very low, meanwhile his footprints and benchmark can not be overemphasized they still exist today in our communities.
“Unlike Nwaoboshi who never visited to know the plight of the people talkless of sitting a menial project in the area. We are begging Senator Peter Nwaoboshi not to think of second chance because his performance in Ndokwa land especially Ndokwa East is not good enough for him to go again, otherwise he’ll fail. Nwaoboshi took all the projects meant for Ndokwa/Ukwani to Aniocha and Oshimili who don’t have a drop of oil in the reservoir.
“He is biased and sentimental just because his own region doesn’t produce oil and gas therefore taking advantage of us by channelling over 30% of the NDDC budget to his area such as Ibuzo, Asaba, Ogwuashi-Ukwu, Issele-Uku and constructed less than 1.5km roads in Ukwuani and Ndokwa West. The Obiaruku-Ugili Amai-Iselegu Phase 1 road project (completed), Iselegu, Oloa Ossissa -Abala -Onuaboh and Okpai / Utchi and Oko road (abandoned), can Nwaoboshi tell us what is the situation of this iconic project that can turn around the life of the people from these areas positively who have been subjected to pains over the years if completely executed?
“Finally we the entire HOSTCOM Ndokwa East chapter say no to Sen Peter Nwaoboshi due to his total neglect to our people. We are therefore warning those sycophants and praise singing youths from Ndokwa East who thinks election can be won on social media and can’t even pull a crowd of 50 people in their area. Let’s watch and see, election is around the corner.” the statement stated.
