An Isoko popular advocacy, social and humanitarian facebook forum, ‘Umeh Need Road’, “UNR” in Delta state, South-South, Nigeria, has called for donations from spirited individuals and members of the forum for a week old baby who was abandoned along the road by yet to be ascertained person.
According to firstng.com which first published the story, residents of Owhelogbo road, Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North local government area of the state were thrown into a big shocked Friday to find a week old baby who was abandoned along the road.
Miss Kome Okore, Assistant Women Leader of the Isoko National Youth Assembly, INYA, and a member of the UNR forum was said to have brought the news of the abandoned baby to the forum page and disclosed that the baby has since been taken to Aruka Orphanage Home in Ozoro.
HardReporters correspondent gathered that on seeing the news of the abandoned baby on UNR page, its Administrator, Duncan Afahokor, a philanthropist of note and founder of Ododo Foundation, immediately on behalf of the forum, took to the page and appealed passionately for donations to help the baby settle in the Orphanage Home, and also get some supplement needs such as diapers, infant food, medicals among others.
To set the ball rolling, Afahokor, a lawyer, donated the sum of N50, 000 on behalf of the Ododo Foundation, and shortly after that donations from members of the forum started pouring in.
