The first lady and wife of Isoko North Local Government Area chairman of Delta state, Dcns Veronica Ogorugba Veronica, enjoined women to show love, unity and support among them.
Dcns Ogorugba who made this call Thursday while hosting female councillors, wives of councillors, supervisory councillors and women leaders in Isoko North at the council’s secretariat, Ozoro, stressed the importance of synergy, mutual respect, and cooperation in advancing the development of the council.

“Your elections and those of our husbands are purely by the grace of God. Therefore, we must conduct ourselves in a manner that gives the people we serve a true sense of belonging, she stated. You must refrain from acts of disrespect or oppression toward those who elected you and your spouses and be reminded that leadership is temporary.
“Be soft and diplomatic in addressing issues concerning the people because governance is transient. We will not be in power forever. Let us reach out to the women in our wards and offer them our support. Let me commend the turnout at the event and encourage you the women to continue praying for and support the wife of our amiable governor and first lady of Delta state, Dcns Tobore Oborevwori. The mother of our state is also our mother and sister from Isoko North. She needs our prayers and support”, she added.
The event also featured a lecture by the council’s vice chairman, Evelyn Aluta on the topic “The Caring Mother” which highlighted the importance of genuine care in parenting.
In addition, the council’s health educator, Mrs. Achuenu Nneka, gave a talk on the prevention of cholera outbreaks.
