Isoko North PDP Passes Confidence Vote On Governor Oborevwori As Ogorugba Tells Appointees, Party Officials To Extend Kindness

Political office holders, leaders and officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state have been enjoined to always extend hands of little kindness in all ramifications to party faithful across the local government.

Giving the charge on Friday, while addressing Isoko North PDP stakeholders’ meeting at the party secretariat in Ozoro, the headquarters of the council, chairman of the council, Godwin Ogorugba, noted that their little kindness will go a long way making the party more formidable, adding that either as elected political office holder, political appointees, party leader or party official, “we are privileged to occupy positions of authority”. 

Ogorugba who was former Isoko North PDP chairman also called on political leaders to always jettison rumour mongers by verifying the source of every information before acting on it.

“Many people have the habit of moving from one office to another or from house to house, carrying fake news or propaganda in order to gain favours. There are thousands of party members that needed one assistance or the other, there is need to always extend hands of kindness in order to carry them along and feel sense of belongings, by doing so, you are automatically making the ground smooth for our amiable governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s re-election in 2027.

“As a leader if such person comes to you and say anything about any leader or person, just tell the person wait let me call him/her to verify what you are telling me” by doing so, rumour mongers will be drastically reduced. The Chairman also urged all the leaders and party faithfuls to be more united in order to make the party more formidable in the local government.”

Ogorugba assured the party that he will ensure that all the Councillors and other political appointees pay their party dues regularly for effective running of the party in the local government and also promised to make provisions for regular meetings of the Isoko North PDP Elder’s council meeting when the needs arises.

Other leaders of the party who spoke at the meeting include; Jonathan Ukodhiko, member representing Isoko federal Constituency, Bernard Odior, member representing Isoko North State Assembly, Joseph Onojaeme, commissioner for Health, Emmanuel Egbabor, PDP state organizing secretary, Goodnews Agbi, Special Adviser to the governor on Project Monitoring and Audit, Paul Oweh, chairman Delta State hospital management board, Bernard Idisi PDP chairman Isoko North chapter among others called for support for the administration of the council chairman, Ogorugba and governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Daniel tutumor SSA to the governor moved a motion for a vote of confidence on governor Sheriff Oborevwori which was seconded by Pascal Emeluaha leader Isoko North legislative arm and unanimously adopted by the stakeholders’ meeting.

Leaders present at the meeting include, Emmanuel Okoro pioneer speaking DTHA, Oviemuno Oghoore, former Commissioner for Transport, Ovie Umuakpo, Executive Assistant, Felix Ofuo, Executive Assistant, Vote Umukoro, Secretary to Isoko North Council, Christian Iteire, immediate past Isoko North chairman, John Araka, Executive Assistant, Sunday Ejemite, PDP Chieftain, Philip Adheke, former council chairman, Kome Ozue, former Secretary Isoko North Council, Matthew Amudede, financial Secretary Isoko North PDP, Councillors, Supervisors, Women Leaders and Ward Vice Chairmen among others.
