Isoko Traditional Rulers Council Endorse Joel-Onowakpo For Reps Election


Barely eight days away from the 2019 general elections, politics in Isoko federal constituency has started taking new twists that may determine the outcome of the elections which political analyst said is more favourable to the All Progressives Congress, (APC).

Thursday, at the palace of the Odio-ologbo of Owhe Kingdom, HRM Inana Okpuzo, Isoko North local government area of Delta state, the traditional rulers council of Isoko nation gathered to endorse Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, fondly called (JOT), APC House of Representatives Candidate, Isoko federal constituency.

The traditional rulers, who were led by the Odio-ologbo of Oleh, HRM Williams Ovrawah, Omogha 1, offered royal blessings and prayers for the success of the APC House of Representatives candidate and prayed for peace during the conduct of the general elections.

The traditional rulers also admonished and charged all Isoko people to ensure that they get their PVC before the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and cast their votes for Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, of the APC in the forthcoming February 16, 2019 election.

“The council of Isoko traditional rulers is behind you, go and make Isoko proud. We have in agreement released the Keys of success into your hands. May you succeed in your House of Representatives bid. No evil will befall you and your team during this electioneering period and thereafter. The Isoko traditional rulers council is fully supporting you for the House of Representatives office”, HRM Williams Ovrawah, Omogha 1 of Oleh Kingdom who performed the traditional ritual, prayed on behalf of the Isoko traditional rulers council.

The traditional rulers present during the endorsement include the Odio-ologbo of Owhe Kingdom (The Host), The Odio-ologbo of Oleh Kingdom, The Ovie of Ozoro, The Ovie of Uzere, The Ovie of Emede, The Odio-ologbo of Oyede, The Ovie of Enwhe, The Regent of Aviara, The Odio-ologbo of Irri (represented by his son), The Odio-ologbo of Emevor, and The Ovie of Igbide.

Meanwhile, in his remark, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas,Joel-Onowakpo, APC House of Representatives Candidate, Isoko federal constituency, who was amazed by the love and support of the Isoko traditional rulers council, expressed his profound gratitude to the kings for finding him worthy and assured the people of Isoko federal constituency of good and quality representation when elected as their representative in the forthcoming election.

The APC House of Representatives Candidate said that the progress and development of Isoko federal constituency is his top priority, promising that he will make the traditional rulers and Isoko people proud by vigorously pursuing the advancement cause of the Isoko federal constituency.

Some of the dignitaries that accompanied Joel-Onowakpo Thomas to the event includes, John Araka, Chairman of JOT HoR Campaign Council; Ambrose Okuhor, DG Ithihikpebe Campaign Organization; Prosper Ahworegba, Director of Strategy and Administration; Betty Efekodha; Oyibo Panama, Director of Special Duties; Goodnews Agbi, Director of Contact; Charles Mallam-Obi, DG Uduaghan Senatorial Campaign Organization; Andy Ejeje; Edhekpo Uyoyou, Director of Logistics and Women Mobilization; Emakpor Odogu, Director of Protocol; Goddy Ewerode, DDG of Isoko North; Jornada Edede, DDG of Isoko South; Andrew Egunoma, Director of Communications; Omidi, Director of Voters Education; Atumu Felix; Sebastine Rabiu Agbefe; Henrietta Omagu; Lucky Arumari; Edafewotu Endurance; and a host of other supporters too numerous to mention.

It would be recalled that the Isoko Development Union, (IDU), which is the umbrella body of the Isoko people, had earlier endorsed Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for the House of Representatives, Isoko federal constituency.

With the endorsement of the Isoko traditional rulers among others, the APC House of Representatives Candidate, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas is unarguably the man to beat as long as the February 16, 2019 House of Representatives election is concerned.
