Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been declared the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), primary held in Port Harcourt, capital city of Rivers State.
Announcing the results, chairman of the party’s presidential primaries and convention, and Delta state governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa said, 3,274 voters were accredited, while 68 votes were invalid.
According to Okowa said former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polled 1,532 votes being the highest votes of all the then presidential aspirants, to clinched the party’s presidential ticket, followed by the governor of Sokoto state and former speaker, federal house of representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambowal, who polled 693 votes to clinched the second position.
Senate President, Mr. Bukola Saraki, polled 317 votes while former Kano state governor, Mr. Rabiu Kwankwaso scored 158 votes.
Mr. Ibrahim Dankwambo polled 111 votes, Mr. Sule Lamido polled 96 votes, Mr. Ahmed Makarfi scored 74 votes, Mr. Kabiru Turaki polled 65 votes, Mr. Attahiru Bafarawa got 48 votes, Mr. David Mark, former senate president polled 35 votes, Mr. Jonah Jang got 19 votes, while Mr.Datti Ahmed got 9 votes.
