NDDC Promises Isoko Infrastructure Development


The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has promised to carry the people of Isoko nation of Delta state along in its scheme of things especially in the area of infrastructural development.

The promise was made Thursday by the commission’s Executive Director (Projects), Samuel Adjogbe, when he played host to the leadership of Isoko Development Union, (IDU), led by its President General, Iduh Amadhe in his office in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

While disclosing among other projects been executed by the commission to include the Araya Bible Site, Mr. Adjogbe on personal capacity denoted N200, 000 to assist in furnishing of the IDU house while his sum of N300, 000 was also donated by the Commissioner representing Delta State in the commission, Ogaga Ifowodo, in support of the furnishing of IDU house.

Earlier, in his address, the President General of the Isoko Development Union, (IDU), Iduh Amadhe listed among other demands to include a major road as well as bridges to link up Ibrede-Ofagbe and the waterside communities of Awa-Onogbokor-Umuolu, who are totally cut off from neighbouring Kwale and Ijaw communities, the completion of NDDC’s building, workshop and laboratory equipment projects for the Petroleum and Civil Engineering departments of DELSU, Oleh Campus, a generating set and other support for the Isoko House complex.

The meeting was said to have been made possible by Mr. Ifowodo.
