Nigerian Comedian, Ogus Baba Takes Gov. Okowa To The Cleaners, Says Not Entertainment Friendly

Warri born and bred popular Nigerian comedian Akpobome Ogude popularly known as ‘Ogus Baba’, on Wednesday night took Delta state governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa to the cleaners, describing him as a failed governor who has killed the entertainment industry in the state.

Ogus Baba, who lambasted the governor in the presence of some of his aides and state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Mr. Kingsley Esiso at the Nnebisi hall of the Prestigious Grand Hotels, Asaba during the 50th birthday celebration of ace broadcaster and protocol aide to Okowa, Mr. Samuel Fejokwu and twenty five years of unblemished broadcasting, said Okowa is a wicked governor who does not want the entertainment industry to grow in Delta.

According to some Journalists and other invited guests who graced the occasion, the comedian exhibited some levels of bitterness towards the governor who he said can not be compared to former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s benevolence to entertainers and the industry especially the comedians.

It was gathered that the comedian who was full of lamentations, took time to narrate to the crowd some of the achievements of Okowa’s predecessor in the entertainment industry which he has destroyed as soon as he assumed office as governor in May, 29, 2015.

Ogus Baba, it was further learnt, said governor Okowa has impoverished Deltans and killed the whole system former governor Uduaghan left and at this point, all efforts by a popular comedian, Ayo Makun, aka AY, the host of the event to stop Ogus Baba failed.

“Ogus Baba finished my boss. He also finished the PDP chairman. Infact oga’s usual complaints of no money ‘Ego-Aria’ was changed to ‘Ego-Aria kakaaa’ and the whole hall was thrown into an uncontrollable laughter. But he was speaking the truth if you ask me.

“Ogus Baba said my boss only came to kill and destroy while Uduaghan came to build and repair. I remember that time when former governor Uduaghan was in office, entertainment was at its best in the state but now reverse is the case.” a governor’s aide said.

It would be recalled that Ogus Baba who is known in taking politicians to the cleaners when on stage had some years back before the 2015 general elections took a swipe at former Delta state house of Assembly deputy speaker, Mr. Basil Ganagana who was seeking reelection to the house.
