Ogorugba Calls For Increase Love, Support For Isoko Music

The chairman of Isoko North Local Government, Godwin Ogorugba, has called for he increased love, greater support and promotion of Isoko music.

Ogorugba who made the appeal Sunday, at Olomoro community , Isoko South council area of the state during the launching of a musical album titled “The Battle is of the Lord”, by Evang Evis Osiota, leader of God’s Favour Gospel Band Olomoro, emphasized his commitment to promoting Isoko music and the passion with which other ethnic groups support their own.

“We must support our Isoko music at all levels because other ethnic groups, big or small, aggressively promote their music, and we should not shy away from encouraging our own.

“Our music is an integral part of our identity, and any promotion we give it helps to place us on the global map. Therefore, we must not relent in our efforts.”

The council boss however praised Evang Osiota and other committed Isokos for using their talents to promote the Isoko nation.

The musical album launch, chaired by Ofegor Onoita, was attended by Ogorugba, his Isoko South counterpart, Friday Ovoke Warri and other distinguished Isoko sons as special guests of honour. 

Ogorugba was accompanied by the Supervisor of Agriculture and Community Development, Thomas Akpoedafe, Chief of Staff, Ikrumale Jones Oghogho, and among others.
