For maligning and running a smear campaign against his reputation and administration while in office as Delta state governor, Executive Assistant on Communications to governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has tendered an unreserved apologies to immediate past governor of the state, Emmanuel Uduaghan, HardReporters has learnt.

It was reliably gathered that Mr. Oghenesivbe, former media aide to Delta state 2015 former All Progressives Congress, (APC), governorship candidate, O’tega Emerhor, was used to carry out smear campaign against former governor Uduaghan’s on social media and on appointment as Executive Assistant to governor Okowa, a year ago, he began to find possible means to mend fences and tender apologies to Uduaghan.

Impeccable sources confided in HardReporters that precisely on Thursday morning, Mr. Oghenesivbe succeeded in storming the Asaba residence of former governor Uduaghan and was said to have begged profusely for forgiveness for all the atrocities committed against Uduaghan while in office as a governor, saying he was used to smeared the name of the immediate past governor.

“Don’t forget that Latimore, while in the camp of the APC working for Emerhor, was always used to maligned and carry out campaign of calumny against the former governor time without number on the social media accusing Oga of running the state like his private business. Now he has come to beg for forgiveness for all his atrocities committed against Oga.” one of the supporters of Uduaghan stated.

Okowa’s Executive Assistant confirmed in a statement his visit to Uduaghan’s residence, acknowledging that “It’s a meeting that took me nearly 12 months to fix.” adding that he had “fruitful discussions with the immediate past governor which includes to mend broken fences and open a new page of political relationships with the former number one citizen of Delta State and his teeming supporters. We dealt with grey areas of the past and talked about present political developments.”

According to Mr. Oghenesivbe, former governor Uduaghan informed him of his senatorial ambition come 2019.

“H.E. Uduaghan told me that the good people of Delta South Senatorial District have been pressurising him to run for Senate in 2019; and that it will be unfair if he rejects the proposal. He went down memory lane to reflect on the Ibori political Dynasty (IDP) as one indivisible political family and in the process confirmed that he has no plans of defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
