* Pro-Uduaghan Too….

The organisers of the much talked about and boastful February 28, Anti-Uduaghan planned protest against the immediate past governor of Delta state, Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan allegedly been sponsored by the governor of the state, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa, his principal secretary, Mr. Hilary Ibegbulem and the senator representing Delta south, Mr. James Manager have chickened out.

The Uduaghan’s protest and counter protest been spear headed by one Fejiro Oliver, Prince Kpokpogri and their self acclaimed international group with #IstandforJailUduaghan and one Samuel Meyiwa Khalil group of #IstandwithDr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan had slated their protest for February, 28 in Asaba, the state capital, but when the team of HardReporters who flew into the state few days ago to cover the two well publicised protests, met the two venues, (Cenotaph and Asaba Stadium) for the protest empty in spite of all the boast on the social media.

At the Cenotaph the premises was cordoned off by security agents with the entrance barricaded with police Hilux patrol vans and the gate under luck and key while at the Asaba Stadium venue for the pro-Uduaghan, no sign of protest was seen.

Reacting to the failed protest and counter protest through a statement in Asaba by a group called ‘Delta State Political Forum’ signed by its National Coordinator, Chief Odima Afam Chukwu, the Secretary-General, Chief Ororo Dave Ogheneovo and the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Odume Val Odume and made available to newsmen in Asaba condemned in its entirety the alleged planned/sponsored protest against former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

The group quoting Oliver noted that “Some few weeks ago, we observed that the pro and anti Uduaghan groups have been spiting fire on the social media and their preparedness to carry out their protest with display of printed T-shirts and banners depicting the former governor in bad light and others pouring encomium on him.

“In one of his facebook posts, entitled “Protest Against Uduaghan Next Week Tuesday: We Can Never Be Compromised.” Oliver, “A Serial Blackmailer”, been sponsored by the power that be in the state raised the alarm saying “Information reaching us is that Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan who looted over a trillion naira is planning to hold a Press Conference after our protest on February 28th. We wait to hear what he will tell the world.

“The protest against Uduaghan can never be about personal gains or benefits. If it was, we would have called the protest off since last week citing some flimsy reasons but because it’s a masses oriented protest that benefits Deltans and stop future Governors from looting our Commonwealth, we have decided to continue and will do so.

“Have we been approached with financial benefits? YES! But we turned it down for your sake. It is to pass a statement that no one will take us for granted again. We cannot serve them and also serve their children.

“On Tuesday, we will show to the world shocking documents of the Uduaghan led administration like never seen before. Bank statements will be released to show everyone that Uduaghan does not only deserved to be jailed but served capital punishment. No one can blackmail us with lies and innuendos. Deltans of goodwill and patriotic hearts should storm Asaba for the epoch protest. We will write our names in gold on that day. No one can stop this movement. No Tuface can call off this protest.” the group quoted Oliver.

But suddenly, few hours to Oliver and Co anti-Uduaghan protest was cowardly cancelled after boasting and ranting that “No Tuface can call off this protest” “Come February 28th, be ready for the shock of your life, such never experienced in Delta before.” thereby reneging on all the boasting and ranting earlier made on the social media, the group stated.

According to the group, “In another of his post, Oliver cowardly wrote “Less than 24 hours from now, patriotic Deltans will hit Asaba, precisely gather at Cenotaph, close to GRA Police Station to hit the streets calling for immediate arrest and prosecution of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan. Just like you, we can’t wait to start this revolution that will stop our governors from stealing our money. We have duly notified the Police and SSS Headquarters in Abuja to provide us security for tomorrow and we have our acknowledgement letter to such effect as we carry out our right to protest, without fear from any angle.”

The group, described Oliver and his co-travelers as bunch of disappointment, querying that while did the organisers of the sponsored anti-Uduaghan protest cowardly chickened out and cowardly blamed their failure on insecurity after ranting that all the security agents have given them a nod to carry on.?

The group however warned governor Okowa and his principal secretary to call their blackmailers to order and desist from any act capable of igniting crisis in the state adding that they may be tempted to launch a massive protest against Okowa should his blackmailers carry out any protest against the former governor and any political officer holder served under him.

It would be recalled that last week, former Governor of Delta State, Mr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan warned that the use of blackmailers by the seating governor of the state, Mr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa could lead to very serious security challenges if not tamed. Mr. Uduaghan, spoke during the Press Week celebration of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council with the theme: “Good Governance, Social Media and Journalists” held at the Labour house, Asaba.

Uduaghan, however, recalled that his successor went to the state House of Assembly to present the financial status of the state and informed the House how he allegedly left over N700 billion debt adding that “I am sure all of you know that immediately I left office, the governor went to the house of assembly to make a presentation and of course what was the headlines in the next minutes? Uduaghan has left N700 billion debt in Delta State”.
