Sacked Delta Speaker, Igbuya Evacuates Belongings From Speaker’s Office


HardReporters can authoritatively report that the embattled sacked speaker of the Delta state House of Assembly, Mr. Monday Igbuya, has evacuated his belongings from the office of the speaker.

Igbuya, accused of deception, highhandedness, incompetence was impeached by 22 out of the 29 members of the house during last week Thursday plenary and immediately replaced with the member representing Okpe constituency, Mr. Sheriff Oboriowori, first timer as the new speaker.

A source at the state house of Assembly complex on Friday told our correspondent, that some boys suspected to be working for the impeached speaker, drove straight towards the office of the speaker in the complex with two white hilux vans and parked near the speaker’s official car park.

“As soon as they park their vehicles, they all went upstairs to the speaker’s office and started to park properties belonging to Igbuya from the office.” the source said.

It was gathered that the evacuation of Igbuya’s belongings from the office was been done when the new speaker, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori, the deputy speaker, Mr. Friday Osanebi and the state governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa were attending a requiem mass of wife of the Iyase of Asaba, late Mrs. Nkechi Philomena Onyeobi at St Joseph’s Pro-Cathedral ,Asaba Delta State.

A member of the house of Assembly who pleaded for anonymity confided in our correspondent that the pressures on the house to reinstate the sacked speaker, Mr. Monday Igbuya have drastically reduced.
