Presidential Advisory Committee chairman, Against Corruption, PACAC, Prof. Itse Sagay SAN, has accused the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC), and the Nigeria Customs Service, (NCS), of corruption even under the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Sagay made the accusation, Thursday in while speaking at the National Dialogue on Corruption organised by PACAC at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, lamenting that corruption was omnipresent in the country.
The law Professor stated that in spite of all the financial challenges Nigeria was presently passing through, NDDC recently bought over 70 cars that included eight super Lexus that cost N70m each adding that there was no difference in the Nigerian Customs since May 29, 2015. “If you go to Tin Can Island, it is business as usual.”
According to the PACAC boss, despite the purchase by the NDDC, the commission’s Managing Director claimed that the NDDC lacks fund to carry out its responsibilities saying corruption is a national tragedy.
