Three persons is said to have lost their lives in an accident that occurred 9:00am this morning following the ploughing of an SUV into the River Jamison at Oghara, headquarters of Ethiope West local government area of Delta state.
According to a source who narrated the incident to HardReporters, said “An SUV travelling to Abuja from Warri area ploughed into the River Jamison at Oghara at about 9:00am this morning. The driver was able to swim to safety with another girl and were wailing and complaining of the bad entrance of the bridge which threw them off balance and went over the bridge rail into the river. Two bodies of occupants of the vehicle, a male and female have been brought out from the river by rescue team.” the source said.
The source however called on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and the Delta State road management agencies to come to rescue of road users on that bridge which has claimed a number of lives for sometime now.
As at press time, it was gathered that the jeep and the remains of another missing person were still been trapped in the river.
