Warri Flags Off 2024 Integrated Measles Vaccination Campaign In Oleh, Says Populace Health, Welfare Remains Top Priority

Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta state, Comrade Friday Ovoke Warri, has flagged off a six day integrated measles vaccination campaign targeting children and adults.

Flagging off the program on Thursday at Oleh, headquarters of the council, the council chairman, noted that the vaccination campaign will officially kicked off this weekend and end on 18, October, 2024.

“The integrated measles vaccination campaign, scheduled to commence on Saturday, 12th to 18th of October 2024, was officially launched today, and will take place across all health centres, wards, churches, schools, and households within Isoko South local government area.”

While encouraging mothers, caregivers, and Isoko South residents to utilise the free vaccination service and properly maintain immunisation cards to ensure diligent monitoring and follow-up on children’s health, Warri however declared that the health and welfare of the populace remain a top priority for his administration, which will continue to endorse and finance interventions that promote and preserve the health of Isoko South inhabitants, with special emphasis on maternal and child healthcare.

Warri offered sincere appreciation to medical personnel for their tireless efforts and sacrifices, and also recognised the vital support of the World Health Organisation (WHO) as the chief sponsor, while undertaking to engage in rigorous monitoring and supervision of the program.

At Oleh, the campaign flag-off event drew key government representatives, notably the council vice chairman and local government secretary, among other distinguished officials.

In her remarks, Nursing Director of Isoko South Local Government, Mrs. Felicia Onwano, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of development partners in making the 2024 integrated measles campaign a reality.
