The auto crash which involved a Tundra car and a Jetta car was said to have occurred around 8:00am at the popular temple clinic junction along Anwai road, Asaba, Oshimili South local government area of Delta State leaving a middle aged woman in her late 40s and baby with injuries.

HardReporters correspondent gathered that the Tundra car was highlighting from the flyover while the Jetta car painted with Delta state transport colour was returning from Ugbolu when both collided.

An eyewitness account said that the driver, an aged man whose name was given as Mr. Okonkwo Akonza, was at fault as he could not wait for the Tundra car which was coming from Summit Road through the flyover and was signalling to turn to the road leading to the Department of Security Service (DSS), while the Jetta car that was coming from Ugbolu was also turning to the old Anwai road when the Tundra lost control and rammed into the Jetta car.

The eyewitness who simply identified herself as Amaka said, “The small car was coming from Ugbolu but the Tundra car was coming from the flyover. The Jetta driver is at fault, he didn’t wait for the Tundra to cross before turning into the road” adding that a woman whose name could be ascertained in the small Jetta car, out of fear threw her baby from the car through the window and the baby landed with her head on the sand and “The baby sustained fracture on the neck, she could not turn her neck.” she narrated.

According to her, “Nothing happened to the driver. An officer of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), identified as Mr. Chris I.K who was on patrol rescued the victims and rushed them to Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba.”

Our correspondent learnt that the owner of the Tundra car was returning from Port Harcourt to Abuja, when the accident occurred.
