Immediate past governor of Delta state, Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has again warned Delta state against pitching its tent with the opposition camp after the 2019 general elections, saying that for the state to enjoy more robust dividends of democracy, it must leave the opposition.

The former governor gave the warning over the weekend at Olomoro, Isoko South local government area of the state when he paid a condolence visit to the leader of All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Isoko nation, Mr. Lucy Esigie, over the demise of his sister.

Mr. Uduaghan, 2019 Delta South APC Senatorial aspirant, in the company of the APC state chairman, Mr. Jones Erue, Isoko federal constituency House of Representative aspirant, Mr. Joel-Onowhakpo Thomas and other chieftains of the party, told the mammoth crowd of
teeming supporters of the APC who besieged his arrival to catch a glimpse of him, that people from the opposition have not gotten over the shock of his defection.

According to Uduaghan who made his first public appearance since defecting to the APC, that “They have been trying to deconstruct the meaning of John the Baptist that I used in my defection statement. They are breaking their heads over it and wondering who and who will Uduaghan take to the APC. Well, my new role as John the Baptist would be to mobilise virtually every PDP member, not just in Delta state but also in the Niger Delta to the progessives’ fold. There are some people that we will not allow to cross over. They know themselves.”

Former governor Uduaghan queried if the dividends of governance is reflective of the wealth Delta state produces since playing opposition three years after he left government, the people chorused a thunderous ‘No!’. He revealed that all the things he left for the people to enjoy have been bulldozed by the leadership of the state on a vindictive mission to wipe off his legacies from the State but just like the biblical Moses, he has pitched tent with the ruling party to liberate Delta state from the jaws of the PDP.

“Moses grew up in the palace where everything was comfortable for him but the Lord told him that his people were suffering. He charged Moses to leave the palace so as to liberate them. I have answered the call to return to active politics to liberate and unite our people who have been deeply polarised by the leadership of the PDP. I have come for APC to take over and I am leading the Take Over Squad.”

He concluded by charging the Delta state APC leadership present at the occasion, the people of Isoko and the entire state to get ready because the battle would not be an easy one but victory is sure for the party if everyone plays their parts well and specifically warned the youths present to stop fighting for crumbs that the PDP will throw at them, assuring that if they are hard working and purposeful, he would show them the real places to be empowered for life.
