According to Ojougboh, he was determined to wrestle power from the ruling PDP government in the state, stressing that APC in Delta is prepared to take over the affairs of the state in 2019, saying that if elected governor, he will do a tenure in office in line with the political accord between the three senatorial zones in the state for rotation of political power.

“We have a standing political arrangement here in Delta state that power will rotate within the three political senatorial districts. Delta Central have done its own eight years, so also Delta South has done its eight years. Now Delta North is presently doing its eight years. The first term of Delta North tenure is what the PDP government is presently doing. But now that the PDP has expired, and so the APC is taking over to complete the eight years of Delta North.”
