Delta state governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa has been adjudged as a monumental failure who has nothing to celebrate in his two years in his office.
The judgement on the two years of office of governor Okowa was given by a chieftain of the Advance Congress for Democrat (ACD) party in Delta State, Mr. Johnbull Okoro during interaction with Journalists at Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North local government area of the state.
According to Mr. Okoro, governor Okowa’s failure to pay the local government council workers out of the monthly federal allocation accruing to the State is a clear indication that the governor has no interest of the workers and Deltans at heart .
“Our checks revealed that the initial gentleman agreement entails sharing of the monthly federal allocations accruing to local government councils in Delta State in such a way that the local government councils will get 50%, while the remaining 50% will be used to pay primary school staff, even as it was reliably gathered that the Okowa administration stopped release of the 600 million naira his predecessors used to augment local government allocations monthly.
“It is important to once again briefly remind us of the state of affairs in Delta State as it has plunged the vast majority of the people into this two years of despondency, repressed and depressed condition and still ongoing. I would have simply wished Deltans happy celebrations of the Democracy Day but there is nothing to celebrate from this Governor Okowa administration”.
While admonishing governor Okowa to amend his ways if he dreams of coming back for second tenure in 2019, Mr. Okoro hinted that just Okowa’s Townhall meeting is a way of showcasing his failure in public for Deltans and Nigerians to see.
