Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan has been elected as the President of the senate in the 9th National Assembly after polling 79 votes to beat Senator Ali Ndume who polled 28 votes.
Lawan is a Nigerian senator who represents the All Progressive Congress in the Yobe North Constituency of Yobe State. He became a senator in 2007 and born in January 12, 1959.
