As the devastated flood that ravaged and rendered many people homeless across the entire Isoko nation of Delta state began to rescind, the Delta south senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joel Onowakpo-Thomas, popularly called (JOT), has presented relief materials worth several millions of naira to victims of the flood.
Presenting the relief materials on Monday, to the flood victims at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), camp at Alaka grammar school, Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North local government area of the state, the national Assembly candidate for the forthcoming 2023 general elections, who was represented by Peter Akarogbe, the assistant director general of the (JOT) campaign council, noted that they found it necessary to visit and to empathized with the victims on their predicament and encouraged them to be patient, adding that the unpleasant time will soon pass away.
“I sympathize with all of you for this natural disaster. It was a big blow to all of us and I pray this does not happen again. Please, I want you to accept this my little token to you all in good fate. To all those who lost their lives, family members and friends, on behalf of my self, my family and members of the JOT campaign council, I pray that the souls of all the departed rest in peace in Jesus name amen.”, Onowakpo prayed.
The victims who were full of excitement for the Joel Onowakpo-Thomas, (JOT), kind gestures, thanked him and his team for bringing them succour and alleviating their pains and suffering.
The JOT campaign council has continued to identify with people affected by the recent flood disaster across the senatorial district and donation of food items, cartons of bottle water, bags of rice and beans, bags of garri, tuber of yams, beverages as well as medical items.
Commandant of the IDPs camp, who simply identified himself as Vincent, appreciated the politician and his campaign council for the visit and donations, stressing that the food and non-food items will go a long way in relieving the victims.
