Ebonyi state governor, Mr. David Umahi has again been accused of his continued display of penchant for appointment of his relatives into sensitive positions since inception of office as governor.
This time around, HardReporters can authoritatively report that governor Umahi who is the chairman, South-East Governor’s Forum, has manipulated the people to appoint another of his relation, Mr. Orlando Nweze as the Director of Finance and Administration in charge of the Secretariat of the South-East Governor’s Forum in Enugu even as mixed reactions continued to trail this attitude of his.
Our correspondent in Ebonyi state, reports that, Mr. Nweze before the elevation to his present prestigious position as the official treasurer of the South-East Governors, remained board member of the Abakaliki Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTD.
HardReporters could recalled that, since his inauguration as governor of Ebonyi state, Mr. Umahi has continued to appoint his immediate family members into strategic positions of authority both in the state and beyond and among such appointment s made so far includes, Mr. Roy Umahi Nweze, Executive Secretary Ebonyi Pipe Production Company, also the sole beneficiary of Fiats in the state Ministry of Justice, Chairman of several ministerial committees amongst others, Mr. Austin Umahi, Zonal Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP and a major beneficiary of the sham called Direct Labour in Ebonyi state procurement process.
The list which is endless also has, Mr. Maxuel Umahi as the Deputy Chairman Peoples Democratic Party Ebonyi State Chapter amongst other positions.
Meanwhile, cross section of the people of Ebonyi state, who have continued to condemned the attitude of the governor by turning the state into a family estate business, have queried “How did we mortgage our commonwealth to the avaricious manipulation of one family? This madness must be stopped. Together we can.”
