The chairman Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba has appealed the National Universities Commission (NUC) to grant speedy accreditation to the Mary-Martha College of Nursing Science, Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of the State for the best interest of Isoko Nation.
Ogorugba who made the appeal Monday when he received on a courtesy visit, the delegation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) led by Prof. Mrs Mildred John in his office Ozoro, commended the team and said “I want to sincerely appeal to you for speedy approval/accreditation of our most outstanding Nursing School in Isoko Nation. I want to sincerely appeal to you for a speedy approval/accreditation of our most outstanding Nursing School in Isoko Nation which was established by Anglican Communion, Oleh Diocese.”
The council chairman, reassured the visiting NUC team of the peaceful nature and hospitality of Isoko nation adding that “Isoko is very safe, peace loving people and above all, God fearing people and I pray to God Almighty to use your team for the accreditation of the school courses.”
The Ogorugba used the opportunity to commend the Bishop of Anglican Communion, Oleh Diocese, Rt. Ven. John Usiwoma Aruakpor for what he called, his visionary leadership and selfless service to God and humanity and his effort in initiating such laudable school projects in Isoko Nation.
“Our Lord Bishop, we are proud of you and continue to be proud of you for establishing this laudable institution which will stand a test of time” Ogorugba stated.
The team leader, Prof. (Mrs) Mildred John emphasized that their purpose of the visit was for academic exercise to ascertain what the institution has sent to the National Universities Commission (NUC), assuring the chairman that they will put in their best to ensure the school is approved and if there is anything needed to be put in place before accreditation, NUC will ablige the school authority.
