The chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, Godwin Ogorugba, Monday received Isoko born Delta based comedian, Ajirioghene Otagba (AKA MC2Kingdom), who was arrested last month by the Niger Delta Development Commission ,(NDDC), contractor, Matthew Edevbie handling the abandoned Isoko 132KVA substation electricity project in Ozoro.
Edevbie had last month arrested and detained MC 2Kingdom over alleged defamation and cyber stalking offence following a video by the comedian condemning the abandoned project.
Receiving the comedian and his team in his office in Ozoro, the council chairman explained that his support and solidarity for the comedian when he was arrested and detained, was rooted in his commitment to the welfare of the Isoko people an elected official, particularly in the host community for the project in question.
According to Ogorugba, he felt it’s his responsibility to advocate for the release of the comedian and urged contractors to complete their assigned works adding that the government will always prioritize the needs of its citizens.
He reaffirmed his dedication to the development of Isoko North and the Isoko nation as a whole, calling on well-meaning sons and daughters to support efforts towards the progress of Isoko nation.
Earlier, the comedian, MC2Kingdom expressed his gratitude to the Isoko North chairman for his unwavering support and solidarity during his ordeal and vowed to never disappoint Isoko nation in his bid to make it great.
In another development, the Isoko North council chairman, Godwin Ogorugba, Monday welcomed members of the ‘Prince Godwin Ogorugba House’ team from Final Touch International School, Ozoro.
The council boss commended the team for their excellent performance in securing second place at the school’s recently concluded inter-house sports competition.
Presenting the medal cup won by the the ‘Prince Godwin Ogorugba ‘ house, the House Master, Oladunni Damilola informed the chairman that the house clinched victories in both the male and female categories of the inter-house sports relay.
